What a beautiful view right? (just an hour before the scooter ran into problems…)

The Story

I moved to a housing district where the commute to work was proven to be a little tougher and longer than usual.

Background of myself

I am no scooter expert, just like some drivers, I just know how to operate the vehicle and very little knowledge is acquired about how to maintain a personal mobility device as experience is required to know how such things work.

Singapore’s infrastructure for scooting

Park connectors are good, I once scooted from Loyang, a desolated part of Singapore back to my place near Hougang and it only took 35 minutes as the entire journey was well connected with proper paths and bridges in between.

The government also allowed the scooter to be carried on public transport, especially this scooter model fits just nice under the seats of the trains found on the likes of the Circle and North-East line (Does not work well with other lines due to older trains).

The Good

Good acceleration

Not too heavy

Supposedly low maintenance

The Bad

Heavy reliance on the front solid tyre

Charging the battery requires some tilting of the wire somehow

Circuit board runs into problems occasionally

Pretention pad for cushioning the impact needs require regular changing

Back wheel cover broke in less than a year

The Verdict

I would say this scooter is pretty worthy of its cost as I am using it for close to a year now. However, do take note that like all vehicles, it carries a certain amount of risk in operating it. For me, I have injured my upper left back once after a serious fall to avoid a crash accident on the pavement.

Furthermore, the daily act of lugging it to the office has caused my left arm to have a small scar as I needed to hold its weight with my wrist during times that I need to take out my metro card.

Stay cool, stay safe. Scoot responsibly!
